The meter has been ticking over since February, and now it’s 190 days since Watford last won away.
High time they collected some points on the road - but The Hawthorns won’t be the easiest place to break the drought which set in following a Friday night feast at Bristol City.
The less said about April's tepid surrender at West Bromwich Albion, the better.
But down the years, the Hornets have had some memorable tussles on the Black Country borders, going back to Luther Blissett’s overhead kick rattling the underside of the bar as Graham Taylor’s Fourth Division upstarts came within a whisker of forcing a replay against their top-flight hosts in a League Cup tie 49 years ago.
