First impressions are often the most instructive, and as last action hero Marc Bola took the dressing room temperature he revealed: “There’s been a cultural shift.”
Watford’s finishing in the dramatic late win over Crawley Town left much to be desired, but Bola’s 25-yard rocket - 15 seconds from the end of nine minutes’ stoppage time, with penalties looming, with his famous right foot - gave new head coach Alessio Dionisi a deserved winning start.
Bola says Dionisi’s impact has been “a breath of fresh air” on the training ground, with the players now trying to “bottle gratitude” and bring it into work every day.
